Are you a quantitative, alpha-driven Quantitative Research Analyst with a deep understanding of fundamental analysis looking to play a key role in the growth of one of the most recognizable investment managers in the United States?

We are a $8 billion long/short equity hedge fund founded by one of the world's most well-know and respected investment professionals. You will be based out of our Midtown Manhattan office, and we have offices in several locations.

 

What is the Job?

As a Quantitative Research Analyst on our team, you will focus on the research and development of statistical equity alpha signals and mid-frequency algorithmically traded equity models. You will apply classical statistical models and modern machine learning techniques to traditional and alternative data sets to generate market neutral, diversified long short equity trading strategies.

You will Ingest, cleanse, and normalize large data sets as pre-processing steps for alpha modeling and stock selection research as well as apply classical statistics and machine learning to traditional and alternative data sets to develop candidate trading models.

You will be building ML Models (from research to deployment), as well as develop, deploy, and monitor live production trading strategies. This role requires someone who enjoys being in a team based collaborative environment!

 

Compensation & Benefits

• $140,000 - $160,000 base salary (200k+ total compensation)

• Discretionary bonus

• Fully covered benefits

 

What Skills Do You Need?

  • Experience working with Python
  • Experience working with data manipulation packages such Pandas, Numpy, Dask, StatsModels, SciKit Learn, Data.Table (R)
  • Strong Statistical programming/Modeling background
  • Experience with AWS- Redshift
  • Previous quantitative research and statistical equity modeling experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in technical or quantitative field such as math, statistics, economics, physics, computer science
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You like working in team based collaborative environments

 

Extra Credit?

  • Experience with EMR, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis a plus is a big plus 
  • Knowledge of financial statement modeling. valuation, and fundamental analysis techniques a plus
